This evening I found some back to school items for you to sew.

• Kids Art Apron at Obsessively Stitching. Make this Art Apron for your child from a dish towel. Click here for supplies and instructions.

At Craftstylish I found instructions to make a reusable snack bag.  Your children will be able to take their snacks to school in this reusable bag.

Use up some of your scrap material to sew up some reusable snack bags.

I have done some quilting before and I was looking for a quick, easy project.

I fould this Simple Quilted Potholder at Craftzine.

For this potholder you will need:

4 strips of light to medium-weight cotton fabric, each measuring 9″×2.75″
9″×9″ piece of light to medium-weight cotton fabric
Two 9″×9″ pieces of cotton quilt batting (I like Warm & Natural brand.)
4″–5″ length of ribbon

Everytime I go shopping I notice that all the stores have their own reusable shopping bags. Most of them are black with the store logo on them. But for Spring, I think it would be nice to have a brighter colored tote bag.

After some searching on the internet I was able to find a few tutorials on how to make my own tote bag.

I thought it would be nice to start off this year’s posts with 3 hearts you can make for Valentines Day.

At CraftBits I found hearts for you to crochet. You crochet these 2 hearts and then attach a magnet on the back so you can place it on your Fridge all year round. Click here to complete instructions.

I have been reading quite a few blogs recently looking for new and creative Christmas Craft ideas. Here are some I would like to share with you.

• Jingle Bell Ornaments and Paper Bag Ornaments from Walking by Faith. I really like the Jingle Bell Ornaments, I think these would make a nice addition to your Christmas Tree decorations and look quite easy to make.

• Hand Print Sants from Play Library. Here is a easy craft to do with the youger children and would make a nice Christmas Card.

• Make it from Scratch has 5 easy Christmas Crafts for the kids to make: Dough Ornaments, Paint Brush Santa Ornament, Ribbon Stitch Foam Stocking and Chenille Stem Candy Canes. I think the Paint Brush Santa Ornament is a neat idea.

• Paper Pieced Hexagon Flower ornament at Lovestitches. A great idea to use up some of those scraps of material left over from other projects.

• Orgami Stars at Zen Crafting.  Zen Crafting has a tutorial on how to make these lovely Orgami Stars. If you like the paper Orgami Stars, you might also want to try to make these Fabric Orgami Star Ornaments.

• Felt Skate Ornaments from Not Quite Vintage. These would make a nice decoration for your packages and then next year they can will make a lovely decoration for the tree.

• Pillow Snowman from The Artful Crafter. I think this Snowman is just adorable. He is made from a Standard or Queen bed pillow.

• Small Money Sacks from KeyKa Lou. You could use these to stuff a stocking or to keep  your rainy day change collection in.

• Wheatweaving Ornaments and Snowflakes from Gingerbread Snowflakes. These would make a nice gift idea for someone who “has everything”.

While searching for ideas using old blue jeans, I found Denim Pocket Magnets to make from the pockets of jeans over at All Free Crafts. For this project you will need: denim jean pockets cut from old jeans, fabric paint, some lace trim, fridge magnet, and glue (craft or hot glue). You can find all the instructions here to make these Denim Pocket Magnets. Make some for your mom this Mother’s Day.

You also might be interested in this book “Quick-Sew Denim: With No-Sew Options (Paperback) by Barb Chauncy. It has lots of ideas for re-using those blue jeans.
