Looks like Spring has finally arrived here in Pangman, Saskatchewan. For a while we were not sure if it would every come, as it kept snowing in April and early May, but lately the sun is coming out more and more, and the birds are up very early singing.

Disney FamilyFun has some fun printable craft ideas for the children to celebrate Spring.

Everytime I go shopping I notice that all the stores have their own reusable shopping bags. Most of them are black with the store logo on them. But for Spring, I think it would be nice to have a brighter colored tote bag.

After some searching on the internet I was able to find a few tutorials on how to make my own tote bag.

I was thinking I would like to make up some flower pins to give as a gift for some friends. I have never crocheted or knitted flowers before, so I started searching the internet for some patterns.

Today it is cold and snowing here in Pangman, Saskatchewan.  I can not wait for Spring to arrive.

If you can not wait for Spring here are some bright colored flowers you can make up with your children.

  • Spring Blossoms from The Tulip Lady.  If you have some paper scraps, foam craft shapes, glue, and popsicle sticks around the house you can make up some of these bright colored blossoms.
  • Heart Flowers from FamilyCorner.com. Cut out hearts from red or pink construction paper and glue together to make a flower and glue onto a Popsicle or Craft stick. Click here for supplies and instructions.
  • Paper Tulip Garden from Our Big Earth.  Using some bright colored paper cut out some tulips, glue the tulip to a popsicle stick and then put the tulips into an egg carton. Click here for supplies and instructions.

After you have made up some of these bright colored flowers be sure to take some photos for your family scrapbook to treasure forever.

I was looking outside just now and all I see is snow everywhere. We have had more snow here this year than in the past few years.  I went in the craft room last night, dug out some bright colored knitting cotton and made up this dishcloth to brighten up the kitchen.  I made this one using white and variegated pink wool.

This Petal Dishcloth pattern can be found at Dishcloth Boutique.   They have many free dishcloth patterns to knit and crochet.

0207_plantpals.jpg Over at FamilyFun I found Plant Pals, a craft for children 2 years and up. These Plant Pals would cheer up your kitchen window this Spring.

earth-tincan-herb-pots_rdax_65.jpg Also, at Kaboose, I found Tin Can Herb Pots made from Tin Cans. This craft is for children ages 6 and up and is a great way to recycle some of those tin cans.

So, the next time it is raining outside, make it a craft day with your children and make up some Plant Pals or Tin Can Herb Pots.
